Abstract

In the field of molecular biology, a vast amount of work has been published for human genome variation in repetitive deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA). Some of this work will have been an impact on the future of forensic science investigation and recent discoveries concerning human genome variation draw much attention to the identity of individuals involving paternity and crime by use of DNA fingerprinting. It is obviously important that forensic scientists begin to familize themselves with this complex field. To this end the logical theory concerning DNA fingerprinting is briefly reviewed.
